The materials that create the flooring on the inside of your home are often varied and intricate. When you have an outdoor space like a patio, it can be refreshing to incorporate some interesting design elements there as well. By using different textures and patterns, you can create a unique look that adds to the ambience that you want to create in your outdoor living space.

Colored and Stamped
People choose colored concrete for a number of different reasons. Whatever your reasoning, whether to hide stains, mimic nature or just to add an interesting pop, there are many colored concretes available that require different levels of maintenance. Stamping can help achieve similar effects. Popular patterns for stamped concrete include stamps to make the concrete look like stone or brick. Stamped designs can sometimes incorporate the colored look into the stamps. We have tons of design and color options for you to choose from.

Stained and Stenciled
When staining a patio, you may have to first remove any existing stains or colors first in order to achieve the color that you want. Concrete stains are usually not opaque and stains or color variations will show through. A concrete patio should be power washed to remove dirt, oil and other debris. Stencils can enhance the look of your patio with a unique design that is overlaid the concrete and then painted or stained. There are many different looks that can be achieved with stenciling and Franklin Concrete Company can help you choose the most visually appealing design for your patio.

Exposed and Engraved
Exposed aggregate can be an interesting and unique way to add a level of texture and design to a driveway. There are all kinds of decorative aggregates that come in many color schemes and shapes and sizes of aggregate pieces. Special affects can also be achieved through the use of aggregate concrete. Etching and engraving is another way that we can add a layer of texture to your patio design. Unlike other topical treatments, etching and engraving are permanent treatments that won’t wear away or become detached. These patterns are actually carved in to the concrete and not applied to the top of it. Staining and other effects can be done on top of the engraving to add a truly unique patio design.

Pavers and Decorative Bands
Concrete pavers are durable and slip resistant, making them a great choice for an outdoor patio. They are very attractive and can complement your home landscape. Pavers can be used to build raised seats, walls, pillars and planters. Decorative bands are another patio application that are much like pavers, but they do not interlock and usually have a design pre-engraved.
